Oasi portable carbon monoxide detector: Italian design, safety everywhere.

30 September 2024

You wake up in the middle of the night with a slight headache. You get up to drink a glass of water, thinking it will pass. But what if that headache was the first symptom of something more dangerous? Something invisible, odorless, but potentially deadly?

Carbon monoxide, known as the "silent killer", infiltrates our homes without warning. As we have already explained here, the only weapon is prevention: to sleep soundly and protect your loved ones, you need to install a carbon monoxide detector.

If you're looking for a quick and convenient solution, a portable carbon monoxide detector (and maybe one that's also nice to look at) is the way to go.

You may have already thought about it, but you're afraid that the portable version isn't as reliable and accurate as a fixed detector. You can relax: now there's Oasi, our brand-new portable and stylish carbon monoxide detector.

Oasi is the result of Geca's decades of experience in detection and control systems. Entirely made in Italy, it has been designed and tested in all its components in our laboratories. That’s why we can offer you a higher quality guarantee compared to products commonly sold online.

Portable carbon monoxide detectors: easy to install and use.

With a portable carbon monoxide detector, you eliminate in one go all the problems (and costs) associated with installing fixed devices.

You don’t have to decide once and for all in which room to place it, because Oasi is designed to follow you anywhere at home, in the office, and even on a boat. So, it’s not just a safety device, but a true personal guardian against the invisible danger of carbon monoxide poisoning.

The key is to follow a few simple rules to ensure maximum efficiency and safety, without compromise.

Where to install your portable CO detector.

You can place Oasi in any room: this way you can take the device with you every time you move from one space to another (its simple and elegant design is made to suit any style).

You just need to pay attention to the height from the ground. In rooms where people are present, it must be at "nose height." For example, in a bedroom, you can put it on the bedside table because, reasonably, it will be at the same level as the pillow you sleep on; in a living room or dining room, instead, you should place it a bit higher because people generally stand or sit there: the recommended height is about 150 centimeters.

If the room houses the boiler, make sure the device is 30 centimeters from the ceiling. This is because boiler rooms are usually warmer, and the heat pushes carbon monoxide upwards.

In any case, the location must be dry, free from drafts, and away from heat sources. The detector should also never be placed in a corner or near objects that obstruct air circulation.

The ideal distance from the potential source of monoxide (boiler, stove) is between one and three meters.

In short, with a portable detector, you have the utmost convenience. If it's Oasi, you combine practicality with safety and reliability.

What makes Oasi unique among portable carbon monoxide detectors.

To ensure the same performance as a fixed device, a portable safety device must have greater durability, as it is more prone to shocks and drops. Battery quality and lifespan are also important to ensure the device is always at peak efficiency.

That's why Oasi stands out in the portable device market:

  1. Italian design: elegant and discreet, Oasi fits perfectly into any room of your home, from the kitchen to the bedroom;
  2. Unlimited portability: powered by batteries, Oasi frees you from the need for power outlets. Take it with you to any room, on vacation, or even camping, in an RV, or on a boat!
  3. Intuitive communication: with its tricolor LED bar, Oasi speaks without saying a word:
    • green: everything is under control
    • yellow: alert, there may be a problem with the sensor or the device has reached the end of its life and needs replacing
    • red: alarm. There is carbon monoxide in the air;
  4. Unbeatable longevity: with batteries that last for 6 years, Oasi watches over you continuously with minimal maintenance. When the batteries run out, the device must be replaced.
  5. Smart safety: the mute button allows you to temporarily silence the alarm if the sound is bothersome, but Oasi will resume sounding if the danger persists and/or CO concentration is significant.

How does Oasi work?

The operating mechanism of the Oasi portable carbon monoxide detector is no different from that of regular fixed detectors.

The device is equipped with carbon monoxide sensors. When the CO concentration in the air exceeds certain thresholds, the device activates an audible and visual alarm.

Oasi works in continuous monitoring, constantly analyzing the surrounding air, and performs a self-test every 10 minutes: it checks the electronic components inside, including the sensor, to ensure the detector is fully functional. If something isn’t working and the self-test fails, an alert signal is emitted.

In any case, you can perform a functionality test at any time, simply by pressing the corresponding button.

Safety at your fingertips

The advantages of having Oasi as your guardian can be summarized as follows:

  • Total peace of mind - sleep soundly knowing that Oasi is watching over you and your family;
  • Flexibility - mobile monitoring, ideal for those who love to frequently rearrange furniture, for frequent travelers, or for those who want to feel safe every time they move from one room to another;
  • Ease of use - no complicated installation, just place it and you're protected;
  • Discreet design - integrates perfectly into any decor, from modern homes to rustic cottages;
  • Made in Italy - certified quality and compliant with the law.

So, if you're looking for a carbon monoxide detector to always have with you, our device is a true oasis of tranquility in a sea of uncertainties and improvisation. You can trust our years of experience in home and industrial safety.
